On Friday, I applied the first coat of paint on the tiny house on wheels. So exciting! If you recall, I had blogged about the style of home we had envisioned and the appropriate color palette for it here.
Though not an exact match, this was the color (not style) that lead me to the green inspiration:
This is the color:
I went with something that had a bit more celery than sage. It’s called ‘Soothing Green’ by Benjamin Moore in their low lustre Aura line:
After the wood had been properly primed with an oil based primer (because of tannin), this wall is the first one completed:
I love it! It’s such a happy color. This is my first time working with Benjamin Moore paints, and I have to say, so far, I think it’s fabulous. I have used Behr paint for years, but I think I’m sold on Benjamin. It just glided on the wall, smooth as silk, and not at all watery or runny.
Though I love the color, I hope we don’t end up looking like a big green shoe box lol. I am going to offset the color with creamy white trim, and aqua-green shutters, so that should help. In the end, I don’t really care what anyone thinks, it’s our little house in a happy shade of green! 🙂
